Watch: Cannes-Winning Queer French Film 'Portrait of a Lady on Fire' Gets Sensual Trailer

"Portrait of a Lady on Fire," the breakout Cannes film that went on to win the Queer Palm and Best Screenplay a the festival, now has its first trailer.
Directed by French filmmaker C�line Sciamma, who became the first woman director to win Cannes' Queer Palm, "Portrait of a Lady on Fire" is a historical drama set in the 18th century following Marianne (No�mie Merlant) as a young painter who is commissioned to paint a portrait of a young woman, H�lo�se (Ad�le Haenel), for marriage proposals. Known that H�lo�se has refused other people to paint her portrait, Marianne disguises herself as a maid to gain her trust but ends up falling in love with her.
NEON, which is releasing the film in the U.S., released the sexy trailer for the film on Monday. "Portrait of a Lady on Fire" will hit theaters on Dec. 6. Check out the trailer below.
