Adult Site Pornhub Offers to Buy Vine

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Officials from Twitter announced Thursday it would be cutting down its popular social media video site Vine, breaking the Internet's collective heart.

But CNET reports the adult streaming website Pornhub may save the day and offered to purchase Vine, where users post and share six-second videos that are looped.

A letter from Porhub VP Corey Price to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was obtained by CNET. Price says "of porn six seconds is more than enough time for people to enjoy themselves."

"We figure since Twitter has dropped (Vine) and is having significant layoffs, that you and your stakeholders could benefit from a cash infusion from the sale of Vine," Price reportedly wrote. "Not to mention we would be saving Vine gems like 'Damn Daniel,' 'Awkward Puppets' and many more."

CNET writes the offer may not be completely serious, however.

Unless pointing out a company's recent hardships in a letter and sharing it with a reporter is the latest Silicon Valley negotiating tactic, it seems pretty clear that the offer is a tongue-in-cheek jab at Twitter and its decision to shutter the video looping platform that has caused so much joy and often humiliation.
