Bananagrams Beer Launches in Narragansett

Narragansett Brewing Company has partnered with a Rhode Island-based game company to produce a beer celebrating Bananagrams.

The Providence Journal reports the Providence brewer's new Hefeweizen marks the 10th anniversary of the popular word game, which was created by Abraham Nathanson at his home in Narragansett.

In the past, Narragansett Brewing has teamed with several Rhode Island companies such as Autocrat Coffee, Del's Lemonade and Allie's Donuts to bring flavorful "mash-ups" to the masses. But their new wheat brew, which features notes of banana and clove, represents the first time they've gotten together with a company outside of the food and beverage industry.

Bananagrams officials say the two companies will jointly promote "Hi Neighbor, Have a Hefeweizen!" through several sponsored game nights in the state.
