Miami's Unity Coalition Encourages You To 'Elevate' Yourself

EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.

On Sunday, February 28 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., head to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden for Unity Coalition's Second Annual "Elevate," a day of more than 14 workshops and activities await you in the beautiful and serene settings.

"Navigating your way through our South Florida streets, watching the news, keeping your cool with less than courteous customer service reps, all while trying to live a simpler, healthier and kinder life are things most of us experience, think about or daydream of. 'Elevate' helps take the edge off of life's less-than-kind realities, and gives us some real and practical applications and tools. It's one of my favorite events all year," said Herb Sosa, Director of Unity Coalition |Coalicin Unida, Inc.

Being a better person through what we eat, how we take care of ourselves, how we treat ourselves and how we treat others can be difficult to follow in our daily lives. Add the pressures of family, peers, aging, economy and surroundings, and it often becomes overwhelming. This is where Unity Coalition| Coalicion Unida's second annual "Elevate" program comes in.

Activities are presented throughout the indoor and outdoor classrooms of the gardens campus, Yoga and meditation in the Garden with Joseph Armstrong and a spiritual makeover with lifestyle coach and Kundalini Yoga teacher Carlos Anaya. Learn tools for being happier and less toxic with Life Coach Thea Sommer.

Interested in spirituality? Sit in on the Spirituality, Sexuality and Religious Tolerance panel discussion, with South Florida spiritual leaders, moderated by Harold Sloan-Marrero.

Nutritionist and Author Alina Z will share her secret ingredients to a happier life, and Caridad Moro-Gronlier will teach personal growth through poetry. Author Charlotte Libov will go over her Cancer Survival Guide.

Do some painting in the garden with Painting with a Twist's David Sexton, or some Urban Habitat Gardening with Howard Tonkin. Energize your creativity with therapist David Kessler, presented by the PRIDE Institute.

While you're there, pick up great health and wellness information, samples and more from Care Resource and others. The event will also provide you with a healthy breakfast and lunch.

"Elevate" will be held from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, 2000 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Fl 33139. Tickets are $30 adults, $20 18 and under.
