ISIS Stones 'Gay' Man to Death After He Survives Being Thrown Off Building

Horrifying images have surfaced online this week showing the militant group ISIS stoning a man to death, who was charged with being gay, after he survived being thrown off a building in Syria, the Daily Mail reports.

Images show a man reportedly being blindfolded and pushed off a seven-story building in the town of Tal Abyad in Raqqa, Syria, but he apparently survived the fall and a group of ISIS members, who were waiting at the foot of the building, then allegedly stoned him to death. The man was apparently being punished for having a "homosexual affair."

According to the London-based group, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, backs up claims the man was thrown off the building before being stoned to death. The group depends on a network of activists on the ground, as the Daily Mail notes.

The images show the man, who is believed to be in his 50s, in a white plastic chair while blindfolded. Two militants, who are dressed in black, army fatigues and wearing masks are shown standing around the alleged victim. Another picture shows the man falling from the building, head first. The Daily Mail reports the man's "judgment," which condemned his sexuality, was read out loud before he was thrown off the building.

Other photos show the man sitting up, after apparently surviving the fall, and another man in army fatigues carrying a radio checking the victim's condition. There's also an aerial shot showing a crowd forming a circle around the man just before stones are thrown at him.

The incident comes after a similar execution in December when it was reported that images surfaced online allegedly showing ISIS militants throwing another man off a three-story building because he is gay.
