PopUps: Sam Smith Lies to Fans, Sings Beyonce Karaoke

Jason St. Amand READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Oh what a tangled web we weave when it comes to ditching your plans to go to a bar to sing Beyonce songs.

Out U.K. soul singer Sam Smith is in some hot water this week after he was caught in a lie to his fans, Billboard points out.

The 22-year-old "Stay With Me Singer" took to Twitter Tuesday night, after finishing his concert in Nashville, Tenn., and wrote that he wouldn't be able to chill with fans because he was feeling under the weather.

"Nashville, sorry I can't come out to say hey tonight after the show!! Still not feeling 100% and need to sleep!! So sorry xxxx," Smith tweeted.

OK sounds good! Feel better Sammy! Rest up! We don't want you to get polyps on your voice like Adele; we'll catch you next time!

Except that's not exactly what happened, and it appears as though Smith was treating his fans like that annoying friend who you keep telling your "busy" or "sick" or "dead" to get out of plans.

Around 4 a.m., three hours after his initial tweet, Smith wrote: "Best night EVER at a karaoke bar in Nashville!!!!!!!!!" and included a link to his Instagram -- an image of a bar.

An Instagram user, who may or may have not had it out for Smith and wanted to expose him for his devious ways, posted two clips of the singer partying up at karaoke looking NOT SICK AT ALL.

Although he did make some good choices, covering Beyonce's "***Flawless" and Destiny's Child's classic "Say My Name."

Smith proved to be a terrible liar but judging by those videos, which you can watch below, I can't hate. What pop star casually hangs out with fans anyway?
