Barbie's now living in a Bowie world, at least for a limited time. Toy maker Mattel has announced a limited edition Ziggy Stardust-themed Barbie in honor of the 50th anniversary of the David Bowie classic "Space Oddity."

Mattel told CNN the doll is designed to honor the "pioneer of sound and vision, English singer, songwriter and actor, whose dramatic musical transformations continue to influence and inspire."

The doll will feature the flamboyant metallic one-piece spacesuit Ziggy wore, and be accurate down to the black nail polish and dangling, silver star earrings Bowie wore for his iconic alter-ego. Barbie will also sport Ziggy's iconic red mullet.

According to the Mattel product announcement blog post, the doll will bear the Gold Label distinction, "will only be produced in limited quantities, and comes with a doll stand and Certificate of Authenticity."

The package will also arrive "in specially-designed packaging, displaying a collage of images from Bowie's early career."

The official Barbie David Bowie doll is not yet available, but eager fans can request to be notified when a release date is announced on the official Barbie website. It will cost $50.
